John Prather Good Jr., 76, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at his family farm.
John was born on September 28, 1939 in Wellsburg, WV. He was the son of the late John Sr. and Mary (Barnes) Good.
John retired from Weirton Steel Corp. He also worked numerous other jobs including Robert Scott Lumber, Wellsburg, WV and Weirton Lumber, Weirton, WV through the years. John was an avid hunter and enjoyed working the farm and with machinery around the farm. He was a member of the Bethany Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Linda Ruth (Marsh) Good, two sisters, Martha Barton and Jackie Good.
John is survived by his two children, Bonnie B. Jones and John P. Good, both of Wellsburg, WV, a caregiver, Laura Good, granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Good, a sister, Grace Johnson of Bellevue, MI, a dear nephew, Matthew Marsh, and several other nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 1:00 PM until time of Funeral Service at 3:00 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV (304) 737-3551 with Pastor Joy Leasure officiating.
Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV with Masonic Graveside Rite.
