Obituary for Maluski John

November 25, 2015 at Golden Oaks, Follansbee, WV.

John was born on August 20, 1924 in Adena, OH. He was the son of the late Anthony “Tony” and Elizabeth (Stazenski) Maluski.

John served in WWII as a Corporal in the Army. He served with the 411th Gun Battalion and the 95th Division during the invasion of Normandy. John was awarded the Purple Heart and three Bronze Stars for his service. He retired from Eagle Manufacturing in 1988 as Data Processing Manager and Company Treasurer. John was a member of the Wellsburg Presbyterian Church where he served as deacon, elder, trustee and scoutmaster. In addition to his service to his country and church, John served Wellsburg as Councilman of the 4th Ward and board member of the Water and Sewer Board for many years. John was also a member of the VFW and American Legion.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his two brothers, Walter and Tony Maluski, two sisters, Violet Feist and Bertha Rihel.

John is survived by his loving wife, Roseanna (Surgenor) Maluski of Wellsburg, WV, three children, Nancy (David) Cox of Kernersville, NC, Linda (Tom) Lozito of Huntington, WV, and John (Susan) Maluski of Palm Coast, FL, four grandchildren, Chris and Jeremy Lozito, Andy Maluski and Emily Maluski-Koziol, a great grandson, Aydan Maluski, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 6:00-9:00 PM and again on Saturday, November 28, 2015 from 10:00 until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Chambers Funeral Homes, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV (304) 737-3551, with Reverend Mary Jane Knapp, officiating.

Military Escort by the WV Patriot Guard to the interment at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, with Military Honors by the WV Army National Guard and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
