Obituary for Laura Ellen Garber (McFarland)

Laura Ellen (McFarland) Garber, 73, of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 9:35 AM on Monday, October 5, 2015 at Acuity Specialty Hospital, Weirton, WV.

Laura was born on April 5, 1942 in Nitro, WV. She was the daughter of the late Gerald and Ruth McFarland.

Laura was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV and the Ladies Auxillary of the VFW Weirton, WV. She retired as a bank teller with PNC Bank. Many will remember Laura for her work at the Senior Center in Follansbee and Wellsburg. Laura enjoyed playing machines and dining with her daughter at the restaurant on Hooverson Heights and Naples, Steubenville, OH.

Laura is survived by her two children, Rich (Kris) Garber of Wisconsin and Michelle Lowry and her significant other, David Schulte of Follansbee, WV, and three grandchildren including, Michael Lowry and his wife, Jessica.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 5:30 PM until time of Liturgy of Word at 6:30 PM at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717, with Msgr. Paul Hudock, presiding.
