Obituary for John Ernest Taibi
John Ernest Taibi, 77, of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 7:55 AM on Monday, August
10, 2015 at Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, WV.
John was born on February 8, 1938 in Follansbee, WV. He was the son of the late
Salvatore “Sam” Sr. and Domenica (Purpura) Taibi.
John served as a Corporal E-4 in the United States Marine Corp as a Clerk at Camp
Lejeune, NC and later as an PFC/E-3 in the United States Army Reserve. He worked as a
distributor of the Family Beer Distributing Company and later as a truck driver for Weir
Cove. John was an avid golfer and loved sports.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his three brothers, Peter C., Bart
“Buddy”, and Joseph Taibi.
John is survived by his wife, Hazel (Urban) Taibi of Follansbee, WV, three children,
John Ernest (Diane) Taibi II of Sanford, VA, Kimberly Ann Taibi Riter and Peter Carl
Taibi, both of Follansbee, WV, three grandchildren, Antonio (Holly), Garret and Sheldon
Taibi, two brothers, Sam Taibi Jr. of Follansbee, WV and George Taibi of Richmond,
OH, a sister, Theresa Iafraiti of Warwood, WV, two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Taibi of
Follansbee, WV and Dora Taibi of Wheeling, WV, and several nieces and nephews.
John’s family has selected a veteran’s honor cremation under the direction of James
Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717.
