Obituary for James E. "Bill" Kemp Sr.

James E. “Bill” Kemp Sr., 90, of Bethany, WV, passed away peacefully at 4:53 PM on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH.

James was born on June 5, 1925 in Rea, PA. He was the son of the late James and Pearl L. (Meyer) Kemp.

James retired from Bethany College as a painter and Brooke County Board of Education as a Bus Driver, after many years of service. He was a former constable for Brooke County. James was a member of the Bethany Masonic Lodge #69, Wellsburg Moose Lodge, Sugar Run Lodge and Cedar Lodge of Follansbee, WV. He was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his two brothers, Ray and Tom Kemp.

James is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (Cunningham) Kemp of Bethany, WV, a son, James E. Kemp Jr. and his wife, Laura of Bethany, WV, a brother, Wayne D. Kemp and his wife, Darlene of Follansbee, WV, five sisters, Betty Darrah and Margie Jones, both of Wellsburg, WV, Helen Moren of Bethany, WV, Karen Bracey of Follansbee, WV and Karol Puskarich and her husband, Cameron of Wellsburg, WV, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 PM with a Men of the Moose Service at 6:00 PM and again on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 10:00 until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV (304) 737-3551, Pastor Joy Leasure, officiating.

Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery, Bethany, WV with Masonic Rite.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 10686 State Route 150, Rayland, OH.
