Obituary for Rose Marie Ferguson

Rose Marie (Mecca) Ferguson, 87, of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 2:33 AM at her residence on Saturday, June 18, 2016 under the care of her family and Amedisys Hospice.

Rose was born on December 15, 1928 in Follansbee, WV. She was the daughter of the late James Sr. and Louise (Marocco) Meca.

Rose retired after 30 years of service as a custodian to the Brooke County Schools. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV. Rose enjoyed her daily soap operas.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ferguson, a daughter, Cheryl Andress, two sons-in-law, Bruce Roscoe and Robert Andress Sr., two granddaughters, Alyssa Hassler and Jennifer Kins and a brother, Joseph Meca.

Rose is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Roscoe and Cynthia (Amber Mowder) Blackburn, both of Follansbee, WV, four grandchildren, Robert (Stephanie) Andress Jr of Toronto, OH, Christina (Paul) Galiano of Follansbee, WV and India Blackburn and Denim (Kelsey) Blackburn, all of Wellsburg, WV, 15 great grandchildren, two brothers, Geno Mecca and James Jr. “Honey” (Nina) Meca, all of Follansbee, WV, and a sister, Stella Panella of Steubenville, OH and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 20, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM and again of Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 12 until time of Liturgy of the Word at 2:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717 with Father Thomas R Gallagher, presiding.

Entombment will follow at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.
