Obituary for Charles L. "Chuck" Kraft

Charles “Chuck” L. Kraft, 68, of Follansbee, WV, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, WV.

Charles was born on January 2, 1948 in the Ohio Valley. He was the son of the late Charles L. Kraft and Mabel (Debnar) Glodich.

Charles served in the United States Navy as a CT3 during the Vietnam War. He retired from Weirton Steel. Many will remember Charles for his involvement in the NRA, American Legion and his work of flint knapping to make arrowheads.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his daughter Roseanna Kraft.

Charles is survived by three children, Leanna (Conleith) Beatty of Leesburg, VA, Jeremiah (Jessica) Kraft of Weirton, WV and Carrie (Stan) Darke of Falls Church, VA, three grandchildren, Saoirse, Hubert, and Eibhleann Beatty, several aunts and uncles, especially Ed Debnar, who was more like brothers, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM and again on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 12 Noon until time of Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717 with Larry Wonderly, officiating.

Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV with Military Honors by the United States Navy and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
