Obituary for Betty Lou Harbert (Carson)

Betty Lou (Carson) Harbert, 85, of Weirton, WV, formerly of Clarksburg, WV, passed away at 10:00 PM on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Carriage Inn, Steubenville, OH.

Betty was born on July 19, 1931 in Smithfield, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late John and Nettie (Price) Carson.

Betty retired from Stone and Thomas as a furniture buyer. She was a faithful member of Vincent Memorial Methodist Church, Clarksburg, WV. Many will remember Betty for her love of volunteer work at United Hospital, Clarksburg.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph A. Harbert, and eight brothers and sisters - Blanche, Charles, Roy, Joseph, Raymond, Peggy, William, and Norman.

Betty is survived by her son, Ronald A. Harbert and his wife, Joy of St. Clairsville, OH, two grandchildren, Ryan Harbert of St. Clairsville, OH and Rebecca Harbert of Weirton, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Betty’s wishes her remains were donated to the Human Gift Registry at WVU for further education and training of medical students.

Donation to science arrangements are under the direction and care of the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717.
