Obituary for Alice Blanche Ulrich (Pfister)

Alice Blanche (Pfister) Ulrich, 85, of Cross Creek, WV, passed away at 11:31 PM on Monday, August 29, 2016 at her residence under the care of her family and Amedisys Hospice.

Alice was born on March 24, 1931. She is the daughter of the late George Paul and Winifred (Foster) Pfister.

Alice was a 1950 graduate of Follansbee High School. She worked at M & J Trucking Company in booking and secretarial departments. Alice was a member of the Civic League, Junior Women’s Club, Can Tankers Model – T Club, Northern panhandle Antique Car Club, Brooke Hancock Jefferson Planning Commission, and Brooke County Fair Board. Many will remember Alice for her civic work, long trips in the Model T, sewing and needle point.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her grandson, Jeffrey Ulrich in 2004.

Alice is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, Charles M. Ulrich of Cross Creek, WV; two sons, Charles P. Ulrich and his wife, Debra of Wellsburg, WV and Kenneth J. Ulrich and his wife, Mickey of Cross Creek, WV; a granddaughter, Ashley Harold and her husband, Steve of Cranberry Twp, PA; a great granddaughter, Finley Ann Harold; two sisters, Mary Ann Cox, Doris June Care and her husband, John; a brother, George “Buck” P. Pfister III, all of Cross Creek, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 3:00 until time of Funeral Service at 6:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717, with Reverend Alvin Schafer, officiating. Following the service, Alice will be cremated.
