Obituary for Catherine "Cathy" Jean Schwertfeger (Schwertfeger)
Catherine “Cathy” Jean Schwertfeger, 69, of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 8:51 PM on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, WV.
Cathy was born on February 28, 1947 in Steubenville, OH. Cathy was the daughter of the late Charles Milford and Alice (Cox) Schwertfeger.
Cathy worked many years for her father at State Farm Insurance, Follansbee, WV along with Cindy Nickerson. She was a member of Follansbee United Methodist Church. Many will remember Cathy in her younger years for her love of bowling, teaching Sunday School, and being involved in the 20 Century Club of Follansbee, WV.
Catherine is survived by her two brothers, David Schwertfeger of Follansbee, WV and Jason Schwertfeger and his wife, Doris Bradshaw of North Carolina.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 1:00 until time of Memorial Service at 2:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV, (304) 527-1717, with Reverend Sharon Van Dam, Officiating.
Interment will be privately at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.
