Suzanne Henreitte (Otton) Sampson, 96, of Follansbee, WV, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 peacefully at Golden Oaks, Follansbee, WV, under the care of the staff and Amedisys Hospice.

Suzanne was born on March 6, 1920 in Fresnes, France. She was the daughter of the late Henri and Marie (Roussel) Otton.

Suzanne was a member of Word of Life, Steubenville, OH. Many will remember Suzanne for her love of gardening and reading.

In addition to her parents, Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Sampson, together celebrated 50 years of marriage, and a sister, Mariette Stroukoff.

Suzanne is survived by her two children, Alan C. (Susan) Sampson of Georgetown, KY, and Mary Ann (Carlos) Barrios of Fredericksburg, VA, four grandchildren, Lisa Stull, Shelley Rowley, Erika Sampson, and Joe (Stephanie) Sampson, seven great grandchildren, Derek Rowley, Mason, Peyton, and Camden Bates, and Quinn, Wilson, and Hayden Sampson, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 PM and again on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717 with Kendon Alexander of Impact Church, Weirton, WV, officiating.

Entombment will follow at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Chris Piccirillo and the staff at Golden Oaks for their loving care of Suzanne.
