Obituary for Alice Eloise Bowers

Alice Eloise  Bowers
Alice Eloise “Toby” Bowers, 73, of Elkridge, MD, formerly Wellsburg, WV passed away Monday, January 23, 2017, at Saint Agnes Hospital, Baltimore, MD.

Toby was born January 30, 1943, in Wheeling, WV. She was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Ellen Willey.
Toby worked as a secretary at Bethany College for 43 years until her retirement in 2008. At that time she moved to Maryland to be closer to her daughters and their families. She was a member of the Wellsburg Christian Church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Lori M. (Bowers) Grimm and her husband Darryl and Mindy L. (Bowers) Matson and her husband, Eric, all of Elkridge, MD, three grandchildren, Courtney A. Matson, Rileigh L. Matson and Nicole I. Grimm, a brother, Lyle "Bill" Willey and his wife, Gail of Wellsburg, WV, a sister, Janet L. Lallone of Weirton, WV, a sister in law, Joan Bowers of Follansbee, WV, several nieces and nephews, and a very dear friend, Sue Stimpson of Wellsburg, WV.

Also dear to her heart were her four legged grandbabies, Cabo, Arty, Molly, Maggie, Abby and Sophie.

In accordance with Alice’s wishes, she was cremated. A gathering of family and friends will be held on April 8, 2017 from 10:00 AM until time of Celebration of Life Service at 12 Noon at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304) 737-3551. Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV.
