William "Bill" Kent  McFadden
William K. McFadden, 87 of Brilliant, OH, formerly of Bethany, WV, passed away at 9:54 PM on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at his residence under the care of his daughter Gayle and Valley Hospice.

William was born on March 21, 1929 in Bethany, WV. He was the son of the late William C. and Myrtle (Chambers) McFadden.

William retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel after 38 years of service. He was a member of Bethany’s Town Council, Recreation Board and the Volunteer Fire Department. Many will remember William for being a basketball referee for the Wheeling Association, coaching pony league baseball in Bethany, WV and being an avid bowler.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Virginia (Briskey) McFadden.

William is survived by his two children, Gayle (Leonard) Shannon of Brilliant, OH and Mick K. (Sharon) McFadden of Wellsburg, WV, four grandchildren, Leslie Hill, Wendy (Chad) Walker, Lindsey (Bill) Walker, Cody (Andrea) Shannon, nine great grandchildren, a brother, Floyd (Karen) McFadden of Bethany, WV, a sister, Barbara Albright of Warwood, WV, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friend will be received on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM and again on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 10:30 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304) 737-3551, with Reverend Scott Thayer, officiating of Bethany Memorial Church.

Interment will follow at Bethany Community Cemetery, Bethany, WV next to his dear wife, Virginia.
