Jean M. Metz, 86, of Zanesville, OH, passed away at 9:48 AM on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Morrison House, Zanesville, OH under the care of Genesis Hospice.

Jean was born on July 2, 1930 in Far, WV. She was the daughter of the late Isaac and Cora (Stewart) Lancaster.

Jean was a member of the Norval Park Church of Christ, Zanesville, OH. Many will remember Jean for her love of Bible Study, sewing, Bible word searches and gardening, but most of all, the love of her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Billy R. Metz, three brothers, Aldis, Ralph and Segil Lancaster, two sisters, Agnes Carroll and Doris Christen.

Jean is survived by her two children, Scott Metz and his wife, Linda of Rayland, OH, Rhonda Snyder and her husband, Kevin of Zanesville, OH, six grandchildren, Cora, Maya, and Gianna Metz, all of Rayland, OH, and Rachelle, Adelyn and Hugh Snyder, all of Zanesville, OH, a sister, Fern Cochran and her husband, Vernon of Middlebourne, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, 401 Archer Hill Road, Follansbee, WV, with her pastor, Keith Kress, officiating. She will be Entombment next to her husband, Billy.

The Metz’s family is being assisted and cared for by the staff of the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304) 737-3551.
