Loretta Nell Cox, 86, of Follansbee, WV, formerly of Steubenville, OH, passed away at 9:50 PM on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Brightwood Center, Follansbee, WV under the care of the Staff and Valley Hospice.

Nell was born on January 9, 1931 in Morgantown, WV. She was the daughter of the late Everett Lee and Clara Frances (McNemar) Roupe.

Nell worked as a clerk at Sears, Steubenville, OH. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness. Many will remember Nell for her love of crossword puzzles and drawing characters; but most of all, for the love that she shared to everyone.

In addition to her parents, Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Paul Cox, a daughter, Brenda Stonebraker, a son, Troy Paul Cox and his wife, Nancy, a grandson, Aarronn Hatcher, and four brothers, William “Bill”, Robert “Bob”, Gale “Fred”, and Jack Roupe, Sr.

Nell is survived by her son-in-law, William Stonebraker, a granddaughter, Barbara Hatcher and her husband, Andrew Hatcher, all of Steubenville, OH, four great-grandchildren, AJ, Jessica, and Hunter Hayley Hatcher and Emily Marie Graham, a sister, Susan Sandy of Columbia, SC and several nieces and nephews.

Private family viewing was held at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717, followed by cremation. Interment will be held privately at St. John Cemetery, Colliers, WV on her husband Frank’s grave.

The family would like to thank Brightwood, Valley Hospice and her niece, Mindy for the warm, tender and loving care that they provided to Nell and their family.
