Edith Jean Kansas, 69, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV.

Edith was born on October 14, 1947 in Lonaconing, MD. She was the daughter of the Lester and Mildred (Cook) Beeman.

Edith retired from Workforce WV as an employment interviewer with over 20 years of service. Many will remember Edith for her love of reading, being a member of the Stamping Up Club and the Bunco club; but most of all, her love of family and friends.

Edith is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, George Kansas of Wellsburg, WV, three children, Michael (Christy) Kansas of Bangor, ME, Kelly (Todd) Mount of Midland, TX and Roxanne (Roger) Garretson of Wellsburg, WV, three grandchildren, Juliann and Aiden Mount of Midland, TX and Alyssa Garretson of Wellsburg, WV, two brothers, Ernie Beeman of Florida and Lester Beeman of Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews.

Edith will be cremated under the direction and care of the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304) 737-3551 and then returned home with her family.
