Ida (DeAngelis) Helton, 84 of Marcy, NY, formerly of Follansbee, WV, passed away peacefully on Friday Morning, August 4, 2017 at 11:15 AM at The Katherine Lutheran Home, Clinton, NY.

Ida was born on August 26, 1932 in Follansbee, WV. She was the daughter of the late Hugo and Mary (Rotellini) DeAngelis.

Ida was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Wellsburg, WV. She retired from the Brooke County School System after 30 years of service as a Secretary in the Main Office and Athletic Department.

In addition to her parents, Ida was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Helton Sr., a brother, C. Louis DeAngelis and a sister, Angeline DeAngelis.

Ida is survived by her two children, Michaele Morehouse and her husband, Robert D. of Marcy, NY, and James Earl Helton Jr. of Carbondale, KS, three grandchildren, Thomas James “TJ” Morehouse and his wife, Heather, Rachael Howe and her husband, Brad, and Alan Morehouse and Amanda Brown, two great grandchildren, Marley and Teagan and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717, where prayers will commence on Thursday at 9:15 AM.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Christ Episcopal Church, 1014 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV with Reverend Phil Van Dam, presiding.

Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Colliers, WV, next to her dear husband, James.
