Obituary for Lucinda Mae (Pettit) Carroll

Lucinda Mae (Pettit) Carroll, 63, of Steubenville, OH, passed away at 3:43 PM on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Trinity Medical Center, Steubenville, OH.

Lucinda was born on September 18, 1954 in Glen Dale, WV. She was the daughter of late James Edward and Grace Catherine (Coulter) Pettit.

Lucinda was a member of the First Church of God, McMechen, WV and became a member of the Catholic faith later in life. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In addition to parents, Lucinda was preceded in death by her two granddaughters, Rebecca and Jessica and a brother, Herbert Pettit.

Lucinda is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, David L. Carroll of Steubenville, OH, a step mother, Mary E. Pettit of Bethlehem, WV, two children, Nathaniel Carroll and his fiancé Donna Tingler, and April L. Carroll and her fiancée, Jerry Bonecutter, 11 grandchildren, Brieanna Grace Carroll, Jasmine Nicole Carroll, Donna Jean Carroll, Alexandra Marie Tingler, Isaiah Michael Tingler, Ashley Danielle Tingler, Jacob Michael Carroll, Alexis Elizabeth Gaines, Makayla Marie Tingler, Nathaniel David Carroll Jr., and Tanner James David Carroll, two great grandchildren, David Gaines and Selena LeAnn Conley, all of Steubenville, OH, six sisters, Joyce Williams of Moundsville, WV, Patricia Galloway and her husband, Steve of FL, Pam Leifhelt and her husband, Dale, of NC, Robin Pemberton of Kentucky , Bette Jo "BJ" Parker and her husband, Butch of Moundsville, WV, and Tammie Jackson of Bethlehem, WV, two brothers, Steve Pettit and his wife, Beth of Wheeling, WV, and Rob Beever and his wife, Patty of Glen Dale, WV, two sisters-in-law, Shirley Conners and Rose Tucker, extended family of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 11: 00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 12 Noon at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Brother Michael Renforth, officiating.

Interment will follow in McMechen Cemetery, WV.
