Antoinette Marie “Beaver” (Checca) Panza, 87, of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 6:43 AM on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV.

Antoinette was born on February 26, 1930 in Follansbee, WV. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Lucia “Lucy” (D’Alesio) Checca.

Antoinette was a devout member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV. Many will remember Antoinette for her smile and her deep love of her family.

In addition to her parents, Antoinette was preceded in death by two sisters, Blanche DiPietro and Anna Cipriani.

Antoinette is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, John Panza, three children, Marguerite (Brian) Tornifolio of Columbus, OH, Karen Panza of Weirton, WV, and John (Debbie) Panza of Durham, NC, five grandchildren, Breyan Tornifolio, Brian (Stacey) Tornifolio, Michael Tornifolio, and Justin and Jenna Panza, two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Sadie Ann Tornifolio, two sisters, Elizabeth (Glenn) Andriano and Josephine Checca, all of Follansbee, WV, a brother-in-law, Albert Panza, a sister-in-law, Anita Wargo, a dear friend, Donna DiPasquale and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1017 Jefferson Street, Follansbee, WV with Father Cody Ford, presiding.

Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV.
