Obituary for George Richard Scheetz
George Richard Scheetz, 69, of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 7:47 AM on Monday, December 4, 2017 at his residence.
George was born on July 7, 1948 in Weirton, WV. He was the son of the late Robert and Ruth (Caniff) Scheetz.
George was drafted into the Marine Corps to serve his country during the Vietnam War where he acquired the nickname/CB handle "Stormy". He retired after 35 years of driving truck with the last 22 years at Weir-Cove Moving & Storage.
George is survived by his three children, Brandon J. Scheetz of Follansbee, WV, Kira Scheetz of Pittsburgh, PA and Ashley Russell and her husband, Aaron of Colliers, WV, four grandchildren, Sandi and Andrew Scheetz and Aidan and Taya Russell, four brothers, Darrell Scheetz and his wife, Christina, Charles “Chuck” Scheetz, Edward “Joe” Scheetz, all of Follansbee, WV, and Larry Scheetz and his wife, Dawnle of Sharon, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
At the request of the family, a veteran’s cremation will be under the care and honor of the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717.
