Obituary for Sarah Jane (McClure) White

Sarah Jane (McClure)   White
Sarah Jane (McClure) White, 91, of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 6:22 AM on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling with her son by her side.

Sarah was born on September 19, 1926 in Moundsville, WV. She was the daughter of the late James O. and Mary Agnes (Buck) McClure.

Sarah was a member of the Follansbee Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Peace Maker’s Quilt Club, and the Follansbee Civic League. Many will remember Sarah for her love of square dancing and being a volunteer with Valley Hospice.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Wilber White, and three sisters, Gertrude McClure and Marie Karr and Grace Caldwell.

Sarah is survived by her son, Gerald Joseph White and his wife, Carla of Wellsburg, WV, two grandchildren, J. Matthew White and his wife, Rachel of Wellsburg, WV, and William D. White and his wife, Elizabeth of Woodstock, GA, four great grandchildren, Liam, Seamus, Malcolm and Sarah Marie White and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 11:00-12 Noon at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717,

Private Graveside Service will be held at Hammondsville Cemetery, OH, with Pastor Penny Calmbacher, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice or Follansbee United Methodist Church, C/o James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV 26037.
