Obituary for Martha "Martie" Louise (Williamson) Iannucci

Martha “Martie” Louise (Williamson) Iannucci, 75, of Rocky Mount, NC, formerly of Follansbee, WV, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2018, at Breckenridge Assisted Living, Rocky Mount, NC.

Martie was born on November 10, 1942, in Wheeling, WV. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Virginia (Walt) Williamson. In addition to her parents, Martie was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Robert “Bob” A. Iannucci, and two sisters, Myrna Jeannie Carr and Brenda Kay Williamson.

Martie owned and operated Martie’s Beauty Shop on Hooverson Heights. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Follansbee, WV, and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Rocky Mount, NC. In addition to the church, Martie was a member the Catholic Daughters, the Brooke County Democratic Women’s Club and the Hooverson Heights Homemakers’ Club. Many will remember Martie for her enjoyment of bingo, amusement of playing cards, and being an unselfish human being who always gave to others, but mostly the true love of her children and grandson. She loved to talk about her family because she was extremely proud of them.

Martie is survived by her two children, Robert “Bob” J. Iannucci and his wife, Cheryl, of Rocky Mountain, NC and Tina Palizzi and her husband, Joseph, of Georgetown, DE, as well as her grandson, Anthony Iannucci, a sister, Sue (Williamson) Warren and her husband, William of Columbus, OH, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, March 2, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV, (304) 527-1717, where the funeral will commence on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 12:30 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV, with Father Cody Ford, presiding.

Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV, next to her husband, Bob.
