Pierino Torini, 85, of Follansbee, WV, passed away peacefully at 1:56 AM on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Brightwood Center, Follansbee, WV, under the care of the staff and Valley Hospice.

Pierino was born on June 30, 1932 in Paranesi, Italy, Providence of Rocca Santa Maria. He was the son of the late Franesco and Mattiola (DiMattio) Torini.

Pierino served in the Italian Army, Alpino Corp. He retired from Follansbee Steel as a laborer. Pierino was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV, the Knights of St. Anthony and the Garibaldi Lodge, Follansbee, WV. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his parents, Pierino was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Pirillo) Torini.

Pierino is survived by four siblings, Alfredo (Catherine) Torini of Tennessee, Aramando “Adam” Torini, Rosina DiPietro, both of Paranesi, Italy and Elisa Ricconi of Notarsco, Italy, a nephew, Franco (Melissa) Torini of Steubenville, OH, a niece, Marta (Cecil) Lilly of Tennesse and several other nieces and nephews in Italy.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 12 Noon – 1:00 PM with Garibaldi Lodge Service at 12:15 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717, where funeral will commence on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 9:30 AM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, March 5, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV with Father Cody Ford, presiding.

Entombment will follow at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.
