Josephine (Formis) Yost, 87, of Bloomingdale, OH, passed away at 10:30 PM on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at her home under the care of her family and Charity Hospice.

Josephine was born on August 29, 1930 in Follansbee, WV. She was the daughter of the late Giovanni “John” and Letizia (Gabriele) Formis.

Josephine was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Wintersville, OH. She retired from Sears in the warehouse department. Many will remember Josephine for being a member of the Silver Sneakers at Elite Therapy, Wintersville; but most of all for her love of Roses and tending to her rose bushes.

In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bob” Yost, three brothers, Emilio, Loreto and Paul Formis, two sisters, Clementine Formis and Elena Lalk.

Josephine is survived by her four children, Tammy Blake and her husband, David Dillman of Mt. Airy, MD, Cheryl Fenton and her husband, Mark of Spartanburg, SC, Kevin Yost of Wintersville, OH, and Rebecca Yost of Baltimore, MD, six grandchildren, Luke, Jake and Aryn Fenton, Sarah and Christopher Blake and Zachary Yost, a sister, Emilia Reale and her husband, Michael of Colliers, WV, a sister-in-law, Janet Formis of Follansbee, WV, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM and again on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 9:30 AM until time of Liturgy of the Word at 10:00 AM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Father Michael Gossett, presiding. Interment will be private at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, WV.
