Condolence From: Valarie Garrett
Condolence: Tom took part in our Vet to Vet social group. He was always so kind and sweet. He also worked with my Dad at Koppers. He made me laugh several times with stories from his military days and from his work days at Koppers. It was always nice hearing stories from another person about my Dad. I will miss him greatly! My prayers for his family.

Condolence: When I met my husband, his father had already passed away. While we were dating, Dorothy began seeing Tom. They were married a year before we were and then when we married he became the perfect step dad and father in law. He was quick to help us, especially when we were first married, with jobs that we tried doing ourselves. He was supposed to help me carry groceries for a party once but he brought them all in with one trip; ten bags in each hand . He always minded his own business.

He was a wonderful grandfather to our children. He was always ready to ride them in the wheel barrel, push them on the swings, play board games, play hockey and let them squirt him with their water guns. He was at every baptism, birthday, communion, confirmation graduation etc., etc. We describe him as the gentle giant. A walking road map who never forgot a highway or where it took him.

The one thing that we will always be indebted to him for is the way he took care of Dorothy throughout their marriage and especially toward the end of her life. He went above and beyond what we could have imagined with his patience and love in caring for her. He made our lives so much easier by doing everything possible for her.

We all loved him very much and he leaves us with a lot of happy memories. He will always have a very special place in our hearts.
