Jean "Jeanie" (Carter)  Lowe
Jean “Jeanie” (Carter) Lowe, 78, of Steubenville, OH, passed away at 1:10 AM on Friday, June 8, 2018 at her daughter’s house under their care with the assistance of Valley Hospice.

Jeanie was born on April 30, 1940 in Steubenville, OH. She was the daughter of the late James Edmond Carter and Dorothy Lee (Hinchcliff) Jeffries Carter.

Jeanie was a waitress for many years at Weirton Motor Lodge and Sam Vinci's. Many will remember Jeanie for her poetry, singing, being a member of T.O.P.S. at the Hooverson Heights Church of Christ, crafting, and her love of reading; but most of all, for always sending a card to friends and family.

In addition to her parents, Jeanie was preceded in death by her four siblings, James and Dean Jeffries, Shirley Carter, and her twin, Jayne Roe, twin great grandsons and a son-in-law, Ralph Hupp.

Jeanie is survived by her two loving daughters, Susan Slussar and her husband, Mark of Follansbee, WV and Lois Jean Hupp of Steubenville, OH, five grandchildren, Robert and Heather Miller, both of Steubenville, OH, Ashley Renforth and her husband, Jimmy of Wintersville, OH, Craig J. Hupp and his wife, Tanya of Mingo Junction, OH, and Kelli Hupp and her fiancé, Gary Brown, two step grandchildren, Nathan Slussar and his wife, Kortney of Steubenville, OH, Abby Slussar and her fiancé, PJ Putnam of Toronto, OH, 15 great grandchildren, and a great great grandson, Kayden and many nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717.
