Obituary for Catherine R. (Campbell) Debnar

Catherine R. (Campbell) Debnar, 80, of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 6:02 PM on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at her residence under the care of her beloved family and Valley Hospice.

Catherine was born on June 18, 1938 in Louise, WV. She was the daughter of the late George Campbell and Elma (Jeans) Wilson.

Catherine put others needs ahead of her own not sometimes but always. She made great sacrifices for her family. Catherine was always there for anyone who ever needed assistance. Catherine graduated from the former West Liberty State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She had a great passion for making a difference in people's lives which is why she worked for over 20 years at the Brooke County Senior Center as a Social Worker. Catherine was a mother, sister, friend, and mentor to so many people. Everyone who knew Catherine loved her so dearly. She will be greatly missed. Catherine was a member of the Follansbee Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband and best friend of 50 years, William R.Debnar, and a sister, Dorothy "Dottie" Joy.

Catherine is survived by her two daughters, Cara McGowan and her husband Richard of Wellsburg, Christina Bilby and her husband Glenn of Follansbee, WV, four grandchildren Tarra and Joshua McClain, and Ryan and Alaina Bilby, a special little dog named Sweetie Pie, four sisters, her twin Carol DiPino of South Carolina, Connie (Mel) Volmar of Lisbon, Ruby Johnson of Paris Pa, and Penny Manley of Follansbee, WV and several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM and again on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Valley Hospice Chaplain, George Romage, officiating.

Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Colliers, WV next to her dear husband.
