Jesse Alan Merino, 62, of Steubenville, OH, died on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Mary Jane Brooks Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH.

Jesse was born on February 1, 1956 in Steubenville, OH. He was the son of the late Frederick George Merino and Catherine (Zelensky) Merino.

Jesse served his country proudly near the end of Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corp obtaining the rank of E-2 Private First Class. During his military career he received the Good Conduct Medal and the Rifle Badge in Marksmanship. Jesse worked for the City of Steubenville as an Operator in the Waste Water Department. He was a member of the LaBelle View Church of Christ, American Legion Post 33, YMCA, Salvation Army Men’s Club, and Prime Time, all of Steubenville, OH.

Jesse is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Patricia Merino, two children, Michael and Rosella Merino, all of Steubenville, OH, three brothers, Michael Alexander and his wife, Sherry of Michigan, Fred Merino and his wife, Mary, and Lance Merino, all of Steubenville, OH, a sister-in-law, Ella Mosser and her husband, Bill of Weirton, WV and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 PM and again on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717.

Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Colliers, WV, with military honors by the United States Marine Corp and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
