Margaret Elizabeth (Smedley) Foster, 91, of Follansbee, WV, passed away at 12:58 AM on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Golden Oaks, Follansbee, WV, under the care of the staff and Valley Hospice.

Margaret was born on May 31, 1927 in Dilles Bottom, OH. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Bertha (Reitter) Smedley.

Margaret was a 1945 graduate of Wellsburg High School. She was a member of the Wellsburg Christian Church. Margaret worked as a Ward Clerk for over 20 years at the Ohio Valley Hospital. Many will remember Margaret for her love of sewing, reading and baking; but most of all, for her volunteer work at the School of Bright Promise for over 20 years.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her daughter, Andrea Kalisz, four siblings, Hilda Pannett, Arthur Smedley, Kathleen Smith, and Evaline McCarthy.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Cathy A. Seevers of Follansbee, WV, four grandchildren, Todd (Christina) Kalisz Sanford, FL, David (Julie) Harvey of Wellsburg, WV, Kerri (Brian) Stock of St. Clairsville, OH, and Kacie Kochenko of Follansbee, WV, six great grandchildren, Camille and Seth Kalisz, Matthew Harvey, Paige Kochenko, Cole and Alexander Harvey, a sister, Betty West of Wellsburg, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private family viewing and funeral service will be held at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717 with Funeral Chaplain, Reverend Sharon Van Dam, officiating.

Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV.
