John Robert Spears Sr., 70, of Colliers, WV, passed away suddenly at 7:07 AM on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, WV
He was born on February 16, 1948 in Dayton, OH. He was the son of the late Cable Sr. and Martha (Beltcher) Spears.
John was retired from Weirton Tire. Many will remember John for his love of hunting and fishing; but most of all, for the love of his family.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his two daughters, Peggy D. Jenkins and Martha Spears, two sisters, Arlene Cain and Ann Brannem, and a brother, Cable Spears Jr.
John is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Margaret (Cleveland) Spears, a son, John Robert Spears Jr. and his finance, Ronni Sue Dickey, all of Colliers, WV, eight grandchildren, Alicia (Eric) Martin, Amanda May, Gary May, Christine Reynolds, Marissa May, Toni Mitchell, John Mitchell and Kelli Buono, 11 great grandchildren, Katie, Lacey, and Colvin Martin , Kylie and Chloe McClain, Kyrah Mitchell, Lucas Shultz, Macyie Summers, Aubree and Jaylnn Reynolds and Asher Cunningham, three siblings, Anita Joy and Ronnie Spears, both of Kansas, and Reverend Frank Spears of Buchanon, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Monday, November 12, 2018 from noon – 2:00 PM and 4:00 until time of Funeral Service at 6:00 PM at James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304)527-1717, with his brother, Reverend Frank Spears, officiating. Following the service, John will be cremated and returned home to remain with his wife.
