Obituary for Richard Iverson

Richard Edward Iverson Sr., 69 of Wellsburg, WV, passed away at 8:12 AM on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at his residence.

Richard was born on June 7, 1949 in Bellaire, OH. He was the son of the late Henry Ebson and Bessie Marie (Flaherty) Iverson.

Richard served proudly in the United States Navy. He was a member of the McKinleyville Church of Christ where he preached on different occasions in addition to being the minister for several years for the Cameron Church of Christ. Richard retired from Tri-State Machine. Many will remember Richard for his devotion to the ministry and enjoying the great outdoors with his pastime of fishing and hunting.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Don Wise.

Richard is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sara Darlene (Dobbs) Iverson of Wellsburg, WV, two children, Michelle Iverson and her fiancé, Eric Mazzella of Wellsburg, WV and Richard Edward Iverson Jr. and his wife, Darcy of Weirton, WV, six grandchildren, Christopher and Erik Gruda, Sylas and Chase Mazzella, and Ayden and Zachary Iverson, six siblings, Beverly McGilton of Ft. Worth, TX, Raymond “Bud” of Adena, OH, Thomas of Tennesse, Bill and his wife, Mable of Wellsburg, WV, Larry and his wife, Vicky of Wheeling, WV and Dave and his wife, Michelle of Steubenville, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 1:00-3:00 and 5:00-until time of Funeral Service at 7:00 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304)737-3551 with Minister Larry Lemasters, Officiating and Military Honors by the United States Navy and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
