We are funeral service professionals with a sincere desire to reward each family who has placed their trust and confidence in us by being attentive to every detail, displaying the highest level of courtesy and compassion and providing the greatest measure of respect for your wishes.

Eric Fithyan

Owner and Funeral Director/Rememberance Planner

Eric Fithyan is proud to be the owner of the Funeral Homes.  He has received numerous awards including 2019 Follansbee Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year 2019, WV Funeral Director of the Year 2018 - Charles E. Dodd Award from the WV Funeral Directors Association, 2017 Young Gun by the WV Magazine and numerous local, national and international award for his leadership and passion associated with the funeral service industry.

Ellen Daugherty

Adminstrative Assistant

Ellen Daughterty is the Administrative Assistant at the Chambers and James Funeral Homes in both Wellsburg and Follansbee.  She is a resident of Wellsburg, WV and the former administrative assistant at the Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church and Regional Office of the Pittsburgh Conference of the Free Methodist Church. Ellen has two daughters and two grandchildren whom she loves spending time with. In Ellen's spare time, she is very active in the The Foundery, formerly the Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church.  Ellen is a proud graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College with BA in secondary education. 

Ernie Fithyan Jr.

Funeral Attendant

Ernie is the son of the late Ernest Fithyan, Sr. and Wilda Neil-Fithyan of Steubenville, OH. He is a graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central. He retired from Windsor Coal Company and the Brooke County Board of Education as a School Bus Driver. Ernie officiates High School Football.

He has two sons: Russell of Severna Park MD and Eric of Wellsburg WV, four grandchildren Lily, Grace, Madelynn "Maddie" & Patrick "Rooney". He is proud and honored to help his son Eric at the funeral home. Ernie is always willing to lend a helping hand at the funeral home  ( wash cars - park cars and maintenance) around the funeral home

Teresa (McFadden) Fithyan

Teresa is the daughter of the late Charles Ronald (Ron) McFadden and Nancy (Barnhart) McFadden of Wellsburg, WV.  She is a graduate of Brooke High School and retired from Brooke County Board of Education as a Kindergarten Aide at Brooke Primary South.  Teresa is the mother of two sons: Russell of Severna Park, MD and Eric of Wellsburg, WV, four grandchildren: Lily, Grace, Madelyn (Maddie) & Patrick (Rooney).

Teresa is honored and proud to support her son Eric in his life long dream of owning and operating his own funeral home. Teresa with her caring heart and warm smile is always willing to serve your needs.

Janet Leary

Janet Leary is proud to be working at the Chambers and James Funeral Homes.  Janet has one son, John, his wife, Linda, and a granddaughter Johnna Leary. She retired from the Brooke County Board of Education as an Administrative Assistant at the Guidance Office at Brooke High School.   Janet is a member of Foundery, formerly the Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church where she participates in House Church and the Follansbee 20th Century Club.
 

Rick Soly

Rick Soly and his wife, Debbie are residents of Wellsburg, WV.  He grew up in the Town of Bethany.  Rick has four children, Dan, Phil, Mike and Steve.  He is proud to have joined the staff at Chambers and James Funeral Home. Rick retired from Weirton Steel 2006 and went on to retire from US Steel 2019.  When not working Rick enjoys lifting and golfing.  

 Steve Metz

Funeral Attendant

Steve Metz and his wife, Cathy are residents of Wellsburg, WV. They are both members of the Franklin United Methodist Church with Steve serving Chairman of the Board.  Steve retired in 2009 from the Cardinal Plant, Brilliant, OH.  He formerly worked as a Policeman with the City of Follansbee and Wellsburg.  Steve is a Proud Army Veteran.  He enjoys golfing but he can not dance the polka. Steve is proud to have joined the staff at Chambers and James Funeral Home.
