Obituary for David Valuska

David Valuska, 91, of Colliers, WV, passed away at 1:15 AM on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at his son’s house under his care and Valley Hospice.
David was born on August 15, 1924 in Brooke County. He was the son of the late John and Anna Valuska.
David served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corp receiving the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with a Silver Star, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart in 1945 from his wounds in Cerignola Italy, Air Medal with two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, and AAR Air Crew Member Badge (Wings). He was wounded in Cerignola Italy He worked as a machinist at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Valuska, three sisters, Ann Pfiller, Helen Dajak, and Margaret, a brother, Mike Valuska.
David is survived by his three children, Mary (Jim) Barringer, Carrolton, OH John (Katrinka) Valuska of Toronto, OH, and Paul Valuska of Weirton, WV, eight step children, Andy, Steve, Geno, Johnny Cook, Helen Marker, Ethel Vaughn, Cass Hutchinson, and Theresa Cook, five grandchildren, Randi Lee Valuska, Jimmy and Wish Barringer, and Jessica and Crystal Valuska, several step grandchildren, a brother, Edward Valuska of Wintersville, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 12 Noon until time of Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at the Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV (304) 737-3551.
Military Escort by the WV Patriot Guard to the interment at Brooke Cemetery with military honors by the WV Army National Guard and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
