Obituary for Michael Kevin Allas
Michael Kevin Allas, 64, of Weirton, WV, passed away at 8:20 PM at Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, WV.
Michael was born on July 24, 1950 in Washington, PA. He was the son of Margaret O’Block of Cecil, PA and the late James Allas.
Michael served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, receiving the Vietnam Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He retired in September from Graphic Packaging, Wellsburg, WV, where he worked as a laborer. Michael was a member of Bethel Park Sportsman Club. Many will remember Michael for his love of music, fishing, and crossword puzzles, but most of all, his dear family.
In addition to his father, Michael is preceded in death by his son, Matthew Allas in 2012.
In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by his two sons, Joshua Allas of Middlesex, NC, and Zachary Allas of Weirton, WV, a granddaughter, Sadie Marie Allas, a sister, Patricia (Mickey) Morris of Longview, TX, and a nephew, Michael Morris of Seattle, WA.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 11:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 1:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717 with Pastor Kevin Bowers of the First Christian Church of Weirton, WV, officiating.
Interment will follow, with military escort by the WV and PA Patriot Guard, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA, with military honors.
