Obituary for Linda Jo Coen (Coss)

Linda Jo Coen (Coss)
Linda Jo (Coss) Coen, 73, of Wellsburg, WV, was taken from this earth by the hands of God at 10:13 a.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, WV.

Linda was born on August 28, 1943 in Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Violet (Smith) Coss.

Linda was known for 28 years of dedication to H & R Block where she prepared taxes and worked as office manager. She prepared for her day before the sun came up and often times came home after the sunset. During her off season, Linda maintained several rental properties, her craftsmanship and hard work were skills learned beside her late husband and were needed to update the living spaces.

To her family she will be remembered as the glue. The strongest glue on the market because despite their wildness and dreams, that have led them all on different paths, she held together each part of their family. She was always there to catch them when they fell, celebrating their victories with them and knocking sense into them along the way. She will always be the strongest and yet most gentle woman her family ever knew.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, which her family can only describe as a love that surpassed their 27 years apart, Everett Fay Coen, two sons, who her family know she could not wait to hold in her arms again, infant baby, Everett Michael Coen and Everett Alan Coen, and a brother, Joseph Daniel Coss. We, her family, strongly feel that she had no fear as she passed into the next life.

Linda is survived by her pride a joy, three children, Melinda Beth (Timothy) Woolwine of Wellsburg, WV, Michael Todd (Van) Coen of Florida, and Lorrie Ellen Woolwine of Wellsburg, WV, a foster son, Dorsey Lee Bragg of Moundsville, WV, nine adored grandchildren, Everett Jordan Coen, Jennifer (Ben) Fodor, Benjamin (fiance, Erin Shankle) Woolwine, Katerina (Ryan) Leatherberry, Michael Fay Coen, Celina Coen, Jeffery P. Starkey, Shaina Woolwine, Tyler (fiancée, Caity Deavers) Woolwine, four cherished beyond life great-grandchildren, Gabriel Fodor, Jocelynn Woolwine, Ethan Paul Starkey, and Paisley Grace, a sister, Kathy Martinez and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and again on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 10 until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV (304) 737-3551 with Reverend Sharon Van Dam, officiating.

Interment will follow at Parkview Memorial Park, Wheeling, WV.
