Obituary for Samuel Locascio

Samuel  Locascio
Samuel Locascio, 92, of Follansbee, WV passed peacefully away at 10:25 PM on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH.

Samuel was born on December 28, 1925 in Steubenville, OH. He was the son of the late Joseph and Provident (Cordora) Locascio.

Samuel served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps during WWII participating against the enemy at Iwo Jima, VI receiving numerous medals. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Steubenville, OH. Samuel was the former owner and operator at Tri-State Fire Extinguisher, Steubenville, OH in addition to numerous other restaurants from Wintersville, OH to Wheeling, WV.

In addition to his parents, Samuel was preceded in death by his son, Robin Locascio, four sisters, Lily Porreca, Rose Rizzo, Julie Betras, and Grace Steffanitis, and a brother, Charles “Chuck” Locascio.

Samuel is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Carol (Conley) Locascio of Follansbee, WV, two children, Kelli Smith and her husband, Greg of Wellsburg, WV, and Julie Beardsley and her husband, Randy of Warren, OH, five grandchildren, Erik, Breann, Samantha, Sydney, and Dakota, three great grandchildren, Peyton, Arianna, and Kaiylee, a sister, Joann Tost of Steubenville, OH and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 10:00 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at Holy Family Catholic Church, Steubenville, OH with Msgr. Gerald Calovini, presiding. Interment will follow with military honors by the United States Marine Corps and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens.
